About Garden Designer Lucy Shaw

Lucy Shaw came into Garden Design in her late 30’s after spending 20 years as an Architectural Technologist. “Although I enjoyed Architecture, I was getting tired of the ever changing rules and regulations, I wanted to be more creative and Garden Design has given me that freedom”

 

In 1998 Lucy retrained at Pershore College of Horticulture and qualified with distinction in HNC Garden Design and Garden Management.

 

For three years Lucy worked for Julian Dowle, a renowned Garden Designer who has won 10 Gold medals at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Lucy worked with him on ‘Shizuoka Goodwill Garden’ in 2002 which won a Silver Gilt medal and RHS People’s Award. In 2003 she project managed his show garden called ‘Yorkshire Alive with Opportunity’ which won a Gold medal.
